PREVIEW: Powderbuff

September 6, 2017

The anticipation for the annual homecoming dance is celebrated with many activities among students; Powderbuff, the boys volleyball tournament, being one of them.

Junior Cade Jochum feels confident in his teams skills to compete against the seniors.

“I’m excited to play the seniors, I feel like our team’s pretty good,” Jochum said. “I feel like we will be able to possibly beat them so I’m excited for that.”

All junior and senior teams have been preparing for the event weeks in advance. Their practices have consisted of setting, serving, and scrimmaging.

With experience from last year, and an updated team, senior Griffin Trude and the rest of “Setsy and we know it” are excited to show the juniors what they’ve got.

“We’ll for sure be better than last year,”  Trude said. “We have a couple new players that we stole from other teams to form the best team possible.”

The event will take place tomorrow at 6:30 pm. Admission to the event requires a $3 fee, and a set of socks or underwear to donate to organizations helping those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Good luck to all five teams competing!
