District renews technology lease for 2017-2018 school year

March 28, 2017

In the fall of 2014, the district renewed their lease with Apple and distributed 11″ inch MacBooks to middle school and high school students and started the 1:1 program with iPads for the elementary schools. While the district initially signed a four year contract, a new plan was recently proposed to end the cycle at the the conclusion of this school year.

In an email released by IT Manager Michael Sanchez, the new proposal will reduce technology costs as the current lease will be canceled.

The new plan means that students in grades K-6 will receive new iPads and students in grades 7-12 will receive new 11” MacBook Air’s.

Sanchez stated that a local sale of existing devices would be announced in the coming months on the district website, Facebook page, or Twitter feed.

The technology department is unable to provide additional information or commentary at this time. Check back for updates as they come.
