Westside DECA with a strong showing at the state competition

Last Thursday and Friday, Westside DECA ventured 45 minutes west to Lincoln, Nebraska for their state competition. The Warriors provided a good showing by accumulating a total of 49 awards which included 9 first place finishes, 10 second place, and 7 third place. Few people understand what it takes to compete and present at such a high level in order to make it to Nationals, which is held in Anaheim, California. For the projects and role play categories, a top 3 finish is required to punch your ticket to the national competition. It takes a lot of fundraising and research efforts to be able to dish out a top quality presentation. Some groups wrote 30 plus page papers while others spent hours studying for the test.
