Partial owner of Chicago Cubs, Governor Pete Ricketts, brings World Series trophy to Westside

February 7, 2017

Calling all baseball fans!

After the Chicago Cubs’ World Series win in Nov. 2016, the World Series Championship Trophy will be making an appearance at Westside High School on Friday, Feb. 10. The trophy in its glory will attract a massive crowd of Cubs fans and baseball fanatics. Here are some things you need to know for this Friday.

– Westside High School students will follow a typical Wednesday schedule. This means mod one classes will begin at 8:00 a.m. (no homeroom) and students will end their mod 14 class at 2:50 p.m.

– The trophy will be available for showing from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m near the Auditorium and Warrior Room.

– The Main Lot will be closed for all students and staff. Staff and students will need to park/be dropped off in the Jock and Senior Lots. There will also be available parking for students at Christ the King Church and Pacific Hills Lutheran Church. For better chances of having a parking spot on Friday morning, plan on arriving at school earlier than usual.

– Westside’s DECA Chapter will be selling “Holy cow I saw the trophy” t-shirts throughout the day for $10.

– The trophy will be located in front of the auditorium for viewing.

– All visitors can start lining up on the football field starting at 1:30 p.m. Any visitors that come before that time will be asked to line up on the street and will not be let into the building.
