Tennis Preview 8/25

August 25, 2016

On the courts, both the JV and varsity tennis teams are hoping for a very good season. With a group of dedicated players, Varsity Coach Shaun McMahon knows it will be a great experience.

“So far the guys have worked really hard,” McMahon said. “I’m impressed with their work ethic and they’re all committed to getting better and that’s something that I value.”

Senior Dillon Ketcham believes that this team is special compared to other years.

“Our tennis team is unique this year because we have all different levels of players. We have some hard hitters, some consistent guys, and some all around players that scramble for every point,” he said.

Overall, Coach McMahon is interested in seeing how his team is going to change over the course of the season.

“I’m kind of looking forward to see how our team develops over the course of the season. We really don’t have a lineup set in stone but we have something that we are going to try and if it works it works if it doesn’t then we have to change things up so I’m kind of interested to see where we end in October,” McMahon said.

You can catch the varsity tennis team’s first match at the Koch Tennis Center playing Omaha Central on Tuesday, August 30th at 4:00. JV’s first match will be at Millard South on Thursday, August 25 at 4:00.
