School faces threat, details yet to be established

April 26, 2016

Earlier today, a threat endangering Westside students was circulating social media. Details have not been confirmed, as administrators were unavailable for comment. However, Principal Maryanne Ricketts sent this email to Westside families regarding the potential threat.

Dear Westside High School Families,
We wanted to make you aware of a situation involving some threats made on social media. Westside administrators are working with a neighboring school district to address this issue. Police do not believe these threats to be credible, but as a precaution, we have asked for additional police officers around Westside High School. The remainder of the school day will go on as scheduled. We would also ask you to speak to your son or daughter about not engaging in the spread of rumors. Thanks for your support.
Sincerely,

Maryanne Ricketts
Principal
Westside High School
