Tennis program holds fundraiser to raise money for new equipment

November 4, 2015

The tennis program has had fundraisers in the past, but never one like what they have planned Saturday, Nov. 7.  Tennis Coach, Shaun McMahon has planned fundraiser to help pay for things the teams need in order to be successful.

“It’s a fundraiser for both girls and boys tennis, varsity and junior varsity,” McMahon said. “It is a craft fair so we have lots of vendors signed up to have a table.”

A craft fair is when vendors sign up to show people what their craft is. This is the first time the tennis program has had this type of fundraiser; they’re still not sure what to expect.

“I get a letter from the vendor, that heard about the fundraiser, that has a contract and a check. The contract states how big of an area they want and what their craft is,” McMahon said.  “The check in the letter goes towards helping the tennis team with the equipment they need to be successful.”

Mcmahon explains the importance of this fundraiser and what it will do to help the tennis program in the future.

“This fundraiser is important because we would really like to have a decent ball machine, training materials, and a place to store the tennis stuff that’s out of the baseball area.”

The fundraiser is this Saturday Nov. 7 from 9-4 p.m.
