City-wide non-profit fundraiser helps Westside Foundation

May 19, 2015

Lasting until Wednesday, May 20, the annual Omaha Gives! non-profit benefit fundraiser, presented by American National Bank, will aim to raise money for non-profit organizations around the metro area. This year the Westside Foundation is taking part in the event and will be accepting donations.

The Westside Foundation is responsible for many beneficial activities around District 66: scholarships, awards for teachers and classroom grants, among others, are supplied by the foundation when other funding from the state is cut short. Omaha Gives! is a way the foundation can receive more money to benefit the Westside community.

The minimum donation for Omaha Gives! is $10, though this can go a long way. By giving money to the Westside Foundation, one can be apart of the cause that gave over $39,000 between district grants to support academic areas such as reading, math and science as well as funding for academic competition such as Quiz Bowl and the History Bee.

By giving a little bit through Omaha Gives!, one can be apart of somethings greater in the Westside District.
