Weekend in Review
If there was one word that could sum up Westside’s performances and games this weekend it would be “winning.” The Warriors pulled wins in every single event this weekend. Read below to find out specifics about how each Warrior did.
Ralston Show Choir Competiton
Warrior Express and Simply Irresistible (SI) each placed first. Senior and SI member Hannah Budwig said, “We felt we did well coming out of the performance. Before going out on stage the seniors gave a talk saying it should be the best performance ever. And to get first place it gave us the confidence boost we needed.”
ATSC placed second.
“There was a lot of competition from out of state,” ATSC member senior Stewart Willet said. “We have made a lot of improvements and are leaps and bounds ahead of where we were a while ago.”
Varsity boys and girls swimming at Scottsbluff
Both boys and girls varsity swim placed first at their meet this weekend. Although Scottsbluff is an eight hour, drive it has it benefits.
“Even if we don’t swim the best times, it’s better for our physiology,” girls varsity swim captain Maggie Kroeger said. “When you are up here [Scottsbluff] and you swim your spleen wants to make more red blood cells. As a team we did perform really well given that we were at 2000 feet higher altitude.”

The Warriors played at home this weekend, with four teams facing off against teams from North Platte. Boys varsity won 75-46 and girls varsity won 55-46. Boys JV and Girls JV also won.
