Westside coach Steve Clark has led his girls to the past four Metro Tournament Championships with one title in that span.

The Westside girls basketball team will take on the top-seeded, undefeated Millard South Patriots on Friday at 3:30 p.m. inside Ralston Arena. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students. Here’s everything you need to know:

Millard South

The Patriots enter Friday’s matchup with a 10-0 record and as the tournament favorites. Their high-powered offense has scored as many as 101 points in a game this season, and the ten point difference (53-43) in Thursday’s semifinal matchup against Millard North was the closest an opponent has come to them all season. That matchup was also just the second time this season they have scored less than 70 points.

The Patriots are led by top recruit Maddie Krull, who is the first Metro girls basketball player to finish in ESPNW’s top 100 for her class, and they are coached by Bryce Meyers.

Westside

Westside will enter their fourth straight Metro Holiday Tounament title matchup with a 9-2 record, while losses came to a top-five Fremont team and El Cajon Christan at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix. They came into the tournament seeded third, and they ended third-ranked Papillion-La Vista’s undefeated season at 8-0 in Thursday’s win.

They are averaging 55 points per game, and they play well as a team. Seven Westside girls scored in Thursday’s win over Papillion-La Vista, and nine found the bucket in Monday’s triumph over Gretna.

The series is even in the last four meetings at 2-2. Westside will be looking for their second Metro Holiday Tournament championship in three seasons on Friday afternoon as they take on the top-seeded Millard South Patriots.
