This past week a teenager in Florida was victim to a shark attack from a bull shark at Melbourne beach. After he was bitten by the shark he paddled his way back to shore and a friend of his that had military training used the ankle leash on the surf board as a tourniquet. The entire situation is extremely impressive that he was able to survive and because his friend was able to help, the victim is able to keep his foot and leg and will be able to walk again. Even more impressive than the quick thinking, is the fact that after his friends dropped him off at the hospital, they headed back to the beach to keep surfing. Even the victim of the shark bite said that if he could have gone back, he would have. Although I would probably have stayed at the hospital with my friend that just got half his leg eaten by a killing machine, good waves are hard to find bro.
