A parent of a Westside student went unconscious during the varsity football game on Friday, September 6.

During their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, April 29, the Westside Board of Education conducted a discussion of the proposed date and details regarding the requested personnel hearing for Social Studies teacher and head varsity boys soccer coach, John Brian.

The board announced that the date of the personnel hearing is yet to be decided, but, when arranged, they will provide notice to the public on the district website in the next week or two.

No potential dates for the hearing were mentioned.

An action item presented at the board meeting was discussing retention of legal council for the board to prepare for and conduct Brian’s personnel hearing. The board retained Karen Haase, a partner in the law firm of the KSB School Law, who prioritizes her practice on representing public school districts. This motion was unanimously passed by the board.

When further information regarding details of the hearing is released, it will be found on the Westside Community Schools website.
