Student of the Week: Kelly Kroeger
Junior Kelly Kroeger has been involved in music for almost her entire life. By the third grade, she was performing at the Rose Theater, and today she is involved in choir, theater, and is a member of the Amazing Technicolor Show Choir at Westside.
“You almost get to put on a different character,” Kroeger said. “Even if you’re not in a musical, even if you’re just singing you get to become something or someone else for a little bit and I think that’s really freeing not having to worry about yourself all the time.”
On Nov. 3, Kroeger performed Sandcastles by Beyoncé at cabaret.
“Originally I was going to try and play the piano, because that’s one of my goals before I graduate to accompany myself … but [Mr. Johnson] said [he’d] like to see [my] performance with [my] body and face,” Kroeger said.
