Two in a row.

The Westside varsity football team has advanced past the first round of the NSAA State Playoffs for the second year in a row. They will take on Millard West in the second round tonight.

The Warriors are coming off a 34-7 win against Lincoln East and Millard West is coming off a 31-14 win over Omaha Creighton Prep. Fourth-seeded Westside will look to continue their success against the Wildcats tonight. Senior Cade Jochum claims that his team is ready and he explains what his team’s main focus is.

“Be physical and know our assignments,” Jochum said.

The game will be a blue-out for both teams to commemorate a Millard West student who recently passed.

The winner of this game will take on the either the Burke Bulldogs or the Lincoln Southeast Knights and the loser of tonight’s game season is over. Westside will take on Millard West on Friday, November 2nd, 2018, at 7 p.m. at Phelps Field.
