Westside’s show choir will be hosting Noodles and Nostalgia for the very first time this year. Current Show Choir members will be modeling past show choir outfits while dinner is served. The event serves as a fundraiser for the three show choir groups. The event is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sat. Oct. 27.

“This is a brand new event for us, and basically it is a pasta fundraising dinner, but to make it a little more interesting they are going to have people modeling show choir clothes,” Chorus Director, Doran Johnson said. “They are going to have some other dresses on display so people can see different costumes.”

Several girls involved in show choir will be modeling the dresses. The dresses that are being worn go as far back as 1996.

“I’m excited because I get to wear a piece of show choir history; when I was younger it was exciting watching cousins and friends perform,” Said junior Kelly Kroger, a model for the night.

“Modeling costumes that I remember seeing onstage is a really neat experience.”

The goal of the night is to fundraise for the show choir groups. The hope is that the historical costumes being showcased will encourage people to attend. According to Johnson, the current musical Sister Act will be performing that night as well, at 7 p.m., so people will be able to come for dinner and stay for the show.

“Next year we might want to have the show choirs to sing and dance at the event,” Johnson said. “For now, the adults running the event are seeing how the agenda will work out, and how many people will show up.”

Come support the Westside show choir program at Noodles and Nostalgia! Tickets are 10 dollars for adults and five dollars for students and seniors.
