Playoff time is finally back as the Warriors will kickoff against Lincoln East tonight at 7 p.m. Westside is coming into the game with an 8-1 record. This is the first time the Warriors have had that high of a record since the 2013 team that went to the state championship game. According to senior Dan Vermillion, the team plans to do the same this season.

“We want to go all the way to Lincoln, no doubt about it,” Vermillion said.

Although the Warriors said their overall goal is to get to the big game, they are also going game by game and taking every team seriously. Senior Nick Connelly is seems to respect his opponents talent.

“Lincoln East is a good team, they have a couple tall receivers that are pretty agressive and their quarterback is quick,” Connelly said.

Although they take every team seriously, they also said they have confidence that they can do well. Senior Nolan Miller-Johnston feels that his team is prepared.

“I feel like we are really focused and locked into the situation”, Miller-Johnston said.

Westside will begin their quest for a third state championship on Friday, October 26, 2018, at 7 p.m. at Phelps Field.
