RECAP: Westside Football Team Continues to Roll with Week Six Win

The Westside varsity football team continued their streak of wins with a 40-0 shutout against opponent Omaha Northwest on the road on Friday.

After a slow first quarter, Westside was able to go to the locker room with a score of 28-0, Westside. The Warriors kept rolling in the second half scoring a total 12 more points.

The defense performed one of the only shutouts of the week in Class A, allowing 48 yards through the air.

Junior Grant Tagge was proud of his defense, who have only allowed 34 offensive points all season, and team as a whole after this win.

“A lot of assets played really well,” Tagge said. “Both our defense and offense performed really well and we expect it to transfer over to this next week.”

The team now has a point differential of 245 points to add to their success.

Westside looks to continue the streak in the Homecoming game when Elkhorn South visits Phelps Field on Friday, October 5.
