Westside Journalism Honored at National Convention
Congratulations to Westside Journalism! A group of students traveled to Boston for the Journalism Education Association’s national conference. This year was a first for Westside publications. 5 of the 6 publications placed in Best of Show, which is awarded to the nation’s best journalism publications. Here are the results:
Best Broadcast – WTV – Ninth place
Best Special Edition Newspaper – Craze – Second place
Best Literary Magazine – Xanadu – Fifth place
Best Newspaper – the Lance – Ninth place
Best Yearbook – The Shield – Fourth place
In addition to these prestigious awards, the Lance was also given the Pacemaker Award, the highest honor given out by the National Scholastic Press Association.
