The social media realm is stirring with chatter about Instagram’s new feature that is stealing Vine’s spotlight. On June 20th 2013 Instagram came out with a feature that allows users to take 15 second videos and apply 13 filters before posting on their Instagram feed.

Both Vine and Instagram boomed in popularity over the past two years. Since their rise to popularity both social media apps have started a variety of trends, like practical jokes, certain types of dancing, and much more. users are left with the question of which social network offers a better user experience.

Vine offers just six seconds of video, without filters. Vine is also extremely user friendly. All of the videos are on the main screen. To view, you just scroll and the video will play. Making videos on Vine is very simple, as well. You simply hold your finger down on the screen. If you lift your finger, the app stops taking video. You resume shooting the video by holding down your finger on the screen again. On vine you can like, revine, and comment on the various vines.

Instagram offers 15 seconds of video and filters that you can use. Instagram’s  video feature is similar to Vines. You just have to hold your finger down when recording. The only thing different from Vine is the Filters that you can add to the video and the videos are 15 seconds.
