Warrior of the Week

Ethical Literacy Club has felt that there has been a lack of school spirit at Westside this year. The club has come up with a unique way to recognize the good things students and faculty do to make this school a better place to be. They call it Warrior of the Week.

“You can nominate a student or faculty member who represents anything the WARRIOR acronym stands for, which is We Are Respectful Responsible Inclusive Open-minded Resourceful and Strong,” said Ethical Literacy Club sponsor Denise Wegener.

Starting this week, you will be able to nominate someone by either filling out a pink sheet in any of the IMC’s, or the online version here. On this form you will include who you are and whom you are nominating, what makes this person a WARRIOR, the traits that they portray and how they portray them at school.

“The idea is to create an identity about what is means to be a warrior in the student body because there are lots of students who don’t have any sense of warrior identity or pride,” Wegener said.

The first drawing will be held on February 1st and the winner will be announced in homeroom. A banner will also be placed in the front of the school showcasing the Warrior of the Week.
