This fall many students have already missed school due to cold and flu season. Every year 22 million school days are missed because of illness due to having a cold or the flu. If a student is feeling sick in the morning, they are encouraged to stay home from school to prevent the illness from being passed to other students. If a student becomes sick during the day, they should go to the Nurse’s office to call a parent.
In order to protect yourself against sickness, here are a few things to remember.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Wash hands frequently and thoroughly using warm water and soap.
Cover your cough to keep others from getting sick.
Get vaccinated with both the Flu and H1N1 vaccines.
